Terms & Conditions
What you get, what it costs, who owns it, and how either of us stops.
What these terms cover
These terms apply to every engagement that starts through surajdonthi.com — the free call, the Product Audit, and any consulting, implementation or delivery work that follows.
The free call
The 30-minute call costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It exists so both of us can work out whether I can help. If I cannot, I will tell you on the call rather than sell you something adjacent.
How engagements work
I work in packages, not retainers. Each piece of work is a defined scope at a defined price, agreed in writing before it starts, and it ends when it is delivered.
The Product Audit is one package. Others may be offered during an engagement or a conversation, and every one of them is scoped and priced the same way before you commit to it.
Before you pay anything you will have in writing: what is being done, what you receive, roughly how long it takes, and what it costs. Nothing begins until you agree to it.
The Product Audit
The Product Audit is a fixed-scope, paid engagement. You receive a written audit of your product with every critical issue identified and ranked by what it is costing you, plus an action plan you can run with or without me.
Money back on the Product Audit
If the Product Audit does not satisfy you, you get your money back in full. You decide whether it did — I am not going to argue you into keeping something you did not find useful.
That is what the audit is for. It is how you find out whether working with me is worth anything to you, without carrying the risk of finding out.
Ask within 3 days of receiving the audit report and I will refund you in full.
Refunds on everything else
The money-back guarantee covers the Product Audit. It does not extend to the other packages — real hours go into those, and they are delivered as agreed.
What you have instead, always, is the freedom to stop. You are never locked in.
Ending an engagement
There is nothing ongoing to get out of. Because the work is packaged rather than retained, you decide at every step whether there is a next one — and if you do not want it, there simply is not one. No notice to give, no contract to exit.
If you stop a package that is already under way, you pay for the work done to that point, and anything paid in advance and not yet delivered comes back to you.
What I need from you
An engagement only works if I can actually see the product. Where these are missing, timelines move:
- Access to whatever we agree I need — the product, the data, the people.
- Answers within a reasonable time.
- One person who can make decisions.
Ownership of the work
Everything produced for you is yours once it is paid for — the audit, the plans, the designs, the code, the documents.
I keep my own general knowledge, methods and tools, which I carry across engagements and which contain nothing belonging to you.
Confidentiality
Anything you tell me about your product, your users, your finances or your plans stays between us. I will not name you as a client or describe the work publicly without your permission.
What I do not promise
I bring judgement, not certainty. I will tell you plainly what I believe is wrong, what I would do about it, and I will do the work to a professional standard.
What I cannot promise is a business outcome. Traction, revenue and funding depend on far more than the product decisions I influence, and anyone who guarantees you otherwise is selling something.
Payment
Payment terms are agreed for each engagement, in writing, before any work starts.
For packaged services that usually means one of two things: paid up front, or paid in instalments on an agreed schedule.
On the Product Audit, paying up front costs you nothing to try — it is refundable in full if it does not satisfy you.
Payments within India are handled by a licensed payment aggregator such as Razorpay. International payments are handled by Skydo. Neither route puts your card or bank details in front of me.
Limits of liability
If something goes wrong, what I owe you is capped at the fees you actually paid me for the engagement it relates to.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you are engaging me from outside India, this does not take away any rights you have under the mandatory consumer laws of your own country.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The version that applies to your engagement is the one in force on the day it started.
